JAMMU, Apr 3: In two different cases, a Patwari in Srinagar and a Junior Clerk in the Jammu office of Transport Commissioner, were today caught red handed by the State Vigilance Organization while accepting bribe.
The accused clerk, identified as Deepak Kumar, was caught red handed by a special squad of Jammu Vigilance under the supervision of SSP Rupender Chalotra when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 for issuance of vehicle permit.
The raiding team, comprising of three Inspectors headed by DySP Vigilance Girdhari Lal, also arrested the accused while a case in this connection has been registered.
In a similar case, Vigilance squad of VOK, under the supervision of SSP M S Punno, caught one Syed Mubashar Hanief, Patwari Halqa Eidgah Sangam, Srinagar when the latter was accepting a bribe of Rs 3500 from a person for effecting mutation of land in the Revenue records.
A case was registered in this connection and the culprit was arrested.
