JAMMU, May 24: Crime Branch of State police today booked a Patwari and three others for preparing fake documents and tampering revenue record.
Official sources said that Crime Branch Jammu registered a case FIR No.10/2014 under Sections 419, 420, 423, 465, 466, 468, 471, 120-B RPC against Harpal Singh, son of Raja Singh, resident of Model Town, Gangyal Jammu, Vijay Kumar, son of Roshan Lal of Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Kanav Sharma, son of Narayan Brat Sharma, resident of 93-Sector 7, Trikuta Nagar Jammu and Shabir Ahmed, the then Patwari Halqa Chowadi in tehsil Jammu for preparing fake documents and fabricating revenue record.
The action was taken after Crime Branch received a complained, duly endorsed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu. The complainant- S Gurbachan Singh, son of Late Thakur Singh, resident of Bhau, tehsil R S Pura and at present Sector 4, Channi Himmat, Jammu claimed that he was the lawful attorney of Lanwinder Kour, wife of S. Satinder Singh. Resident of Mamka in R S Pura and was in peaceful possession of her land measuring 1 kanal and 4 marlas at village Chowadi, in tehsil and district Jammu. During 2008, when they were aboard, some people taking advantage of the situation executed a fake and forged sale deed in favour of one Kanav Sharma, son of Narayan Brat Sharma of 93-Sec 7 Trikuta Nagar Jammu by impersonating complainant in the court. He further claimed that they never approached the Revenue authorities for any `Fard’ or even the court of registration of the said sale deed. They only came to know about the matter when one Kanav along with some people started taking possession of the land. Their attempt was however, thwarted.
The Crime Branch sleuths after receiving complaint started inquiry and it was found that Balwinder Kour, wife of Satinder Singh of Mamka in R S Pura was the original owner of the said land. It was also found that the accused persons with the intensions to make easy buck, prepared fake documents and hatched a criminal conspiracy in league with the Patwari Shabir Ahmed. They also committed fraud and threw dust in the eyes of the court. The police registered case and started search for them.
