Clear GP Fund bills, detach all teachers: JKPDTU

Jammu, May 24:   The Jammu Kashmir People’s Democratic Trade Union (JKPDTU) has demanded inquiry into the massive corrupt practices prevailing in transfer of teachers and lecturers  and immediate release of  funds for the clearing the pending treasury bills of  GP Fund/ Gratuity  of the employees and pensioners.
In a meeting of the JKPDTU held here under the chairmanship of Suresh Sharma, the  members expressed shock and anguish over the pending bills of with drawal of GP Fund/ Gratuity  of employees/pensioners  worth crores  for want of funds from the Finance department.  They said the  employees opt for advances from their hard earned savings of GP Fund under extreme compulsions but these are not disbursed by the Treasuries for months together leading to lot of hardships to the employees.  He appealed the Finance Minister to release adequate funds to treasures of Jammu so that pending bills are cleared without any further delay.
They further alleged that  Government has failed to address issues like regularization of  daily wagers, consolidated and contractual workers, removal of pay anomalies of  the clerical cadre and  others, budgetary support to the PSUs for disbursement of salaries and release of 6th  Pay  Commission arrears, increase  in Medical allowance to Rs. 1000, increase in the daily wages to Rs 300, qualifying service for pension at par with the Centre, Medi -claim policy for Non- Gazetted employees of  the  State including the PSUs,  increase retirement age to 60 years, dislocation allowance to the employees working in far flung areas, settlement of claims of drivers of SRTC who have retired from service under VRS and issuance of adjustment  orders of jail wardens who are in the select list.
Mr Sharma criticized School Education authorities for not  adhering to the transfer policy as regards to the transfer of teachers, masters and lecturers. He pointed out that hundreds of teachers /masters are awaiting adjustment orders and are presently attached with CEOs. He enjoined upon Dy Chief Minister, I/C School Education to adjust all teachers and masters.  He alleged  bungling and corruption in the transfer of teachers, masters and lecturers and urged upon the DyCM  to look into corrupt practices prevailing in the department and sought transfer of  officials attached in the office of CEO Jammu. He also demanded an inquiry into this whole gambit of `transfers trade’.
