UDHAMPUR, Apr 21: Expressing solidarity with family members of tragic accident at Rang village of Ramnagar, BJP spokesperson and former MLA, Ranbir Singh Pathania pitched for fixing responsibility and taking to task the defaulting persons with criminal negligence.
“Accidents are happening again and again thereby creating danger to the lives and limbs of the people,” said Pathania while taking the spot survey of the accident spot, here today. Thereafter, he personally monitored the health condition of all the injured at District Hospital.
He asked for immediate implementation of the ‘Road Safety Action Plan’ which has already been put into operation by the UT dispensation. He said that mandatory steps and measures supposed to be taken by the PWD, Traffic Police and other departments acting in a synergised way are yet to be actualised on ground.
He expressed least hesitation in saying that it is due to the lacklustre response of the authorities that the said action plan still remains a dead letter as on date. Pathania demanded strict action against the guilty who are negligent towards ‘Road Safety’ measures including overload check as well as the mechanical check and professional check of the vehicles/drivers.
He also demanded Rs five lacs rupees ex-gratia for the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured persons.
