RAMNAGAR, April 15: Former MLA, R.S Pathania has appealed Dr Jitendra Singh, Union MoS and J&K Lieutenant Governor, G.C Murmu to provide proper facilities like food, shelter, medicines etc to the laborers from Ramnagar and it’s adjoining areas stranded outside.
In a handout Pathania claimed that people from Ramnagar mostly go to Ludhiana, Kanpur, Aligarh, Agra, Indore, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Amritsar and other parts of the country to perform labour type tasks.
“In the absence of work, these workers have been pushed to the wall with threats of starvation loom large over them,” he claimed with a list of about 8000 such laborers at various parts of the country.
He hailed the services of frontline worker and demanded PPE kits, N95 masks, gloves and sanitizers for health personnel involved in COVID-19 tasks.
