Patel Nagar residents protest over constt of heightened nallah

JAMMU, Sept 15: The inhabitants of Patel Nagar (Talab Tillo) today staged a strong protest over construction of a heightened nallah along Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway.
Score of residents of the area, particularly those residing in Lane Number 8 of Patel Nagar, assembled this morning at Akhnoor Road near Pillar Number 27 of the under-construction flyover and staged a protest demonstration. Raising slogans against the concerned officers, the inhabitants said that the company engaged in construction of the nallah along the Highway has deliberately raised the height of the nallah near Lane Number 8 due to which people of the area are facing problems.
They said the nallah is around 1.5 to 2 feet high near the crossing of the Lane due to which residents are facing problem in crossing their four-wheelers and two-wheelers over the nallah. “Our repeated pleas to the concerned officers fell into their deaf ears, which forced us to adopt the path of protest,” the protesting people said and appealed the higher officers to took cognizance of the matter and solve the issue on priority.
The residents said that if the issue is not solved soon, they will intensify their protest and will not hesitate even from blocking the vehicular traffic on the busy Jammu-Akhnoor Road.
