NAGPUR, Sept 12:
Patanjali is in the process of setting up big units in Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka, besides establishing subsidiary units in a number of places, as part of supply chain, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has said.
Enthused with the massive response to his various products, yoga guru Baba Ramdev is all set to venture into garments area with his new product ‘Swadeshi Jeans’ on a mission to free India from westernisation of the country’s market by the end of the year.
Baba Ramdev, who was in the orange city for the past two days in connection with the launch of his mega food park city at Multi modal international hub airport at Nagpur , told media that in view of great demand from youth, Patanjali has decided to introduce Indianised jeans under the brand Swadeshi jeans to compete with the international brands.
Before leaving Nagpur, Baba Ramdev said that Swadeshi product specially under Fast Moving Consumer Goods category were far better than the foreign brands as it has the potential to free India from economic slavery.
Foreign products, including Chinese goods, have flooded the Indian market. The products of Patanjali, however, were giving a strong fight to various foreign goods, claimed Baba Ramdev. The yoga guru said that he was planning to enter into international market starting from Pakistan , Afghanistan and other countries .
He said that Patanjali would set up his units in Pakistan and Afghanistan if the situation is favourable for doing so.
To start with, Baba Ramdev has decided to introduce FMCG products of Patanjali into the international market. He further elaborated that his company’s units have been set up in the neighboring countries of Nepal and Bangladesh.
The yoga guru claimed that his products were popular in the Middle East countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Regarding his plans for the poor countries, Baba Ramdev said that he was contemplating to come up with manufacturing units of his company in such nations with the mission of their overall development.
Highlighting his MIHAN projects, Baba Ramdev said that Patanjali would be setting up its biggest unit on a 40-lakh sqft at MIHAN in Nagpur at an expenditure of Rs 1,000 crore. This venture has the potential to provide job opportunities to 10,000 to 15,000 youths from Maharashtra . (UNI)
