JAMMU, Jan 17: The Regional Passport Office in Jammu is going to organise a special Passport Mela on January 20 in a bid to bring down the waiting period in the appointment cycle and expedite the applications process.
As many as 280 passport appointments have been released. Applicants need to submit the Passport Application Form online for ‘Fresh/Re-issue of passport under normal category and book prior appointment before visiting Passport Seva Kendra, Jammu and avail this opportunity to get their benefits.
The mela will be held between 9 am to 4.30 pm at PSK, Jammu, to process applications of local and outstation applicants only under the ‘normal or ‘re-issue’ category.
The idea of Passport Mela, initiated by the PSK, has become a preferred time for applicants to get their work completed smoothly and quickly. Majority of the applicants looked satisfied with the facilities and the working of the passport mela and as they claimed is to be a good attempt to reduce the time taken to get done with the formalities
The mela also aims to give special emphasis to facilitate the applicants falling under category of senior citizen, minor, illiterate, Hajj/Umrah and family persons willing to get their case process at a single time.
