Manhas complimented the legislators of BJP-PDP for successfully countering the misinformation campaign launched by the opposition for arousing public passions in the Valley at the behest of separatist and anti-national forces and unitedly passing the Resolution thus saving the State from a virtual financial chaos.
The BJP MP was also critical of the NC-Cong combine for shying away from a debate on the floor of the House and instead resorting to agitation politics outside and inside the House ignoring the interests of the traders of other two regions of the State who were pressing for immediate adoption of GST. All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) while slamming the role of opposition National Conference and  Congress Party on the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the State,  has accused  both the parties of  playing politics even on the issues of national interests and making a historical blunder by misleading people over the issue.
Anil Sharma, president of the AJKPC, in a statement here said  it is so unfortunate that those parties who have ruled the country and State for longest terms behaved irresponsibly even without considering the plight of the common people and business community of the State.
Sharma  said both these parties during their regimes at National and State level have brought over 100 amendments in the Constitution of India and dozens of amendments in the State Constitution but when they are in opposition they create ruckus and political chaos. These family-based political parties missed historical opportunity in building a consensus on GST implementation and suggest positive notes for proper implementation of this reformatory tax regime in the State, he added.
“People are judging their misdeeds and will punish them through ballot. The role of opposition is for constructive politics and highlight wrong doings of the Government but both NC and Congress showed their greed for power and simply exposed themselves”, the AJKPC leader  maintained.
