Parthasarthy, Kak discuss J&K situation with Nirmal

JAMMU, Feb 16: Former Diplomat G Parthasarthy and veteran journalist Kapil Kak today called on former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislative Party leader Dr Nirmal Singh here today and discussed the prevailing situation in the State with him.
The two visiting dignitaries discussed host of issue with Dr Singh including the problems of PoK, West Pak refuges, internally displaced people from Valley and other parts of Jammu region as well as problems of border people who suffered immense loss due to cross border firing and shelling from time to time.
Dr Nirmal Singh briefed them of the public welfare measures taken by previous PDP-BJP government in the State. He informed them that many developmental works were taken up in hand while other major projects were in pipeline for the welfare of the public.
Both Mr Parthasarthy and Kak were informed by the BJP leader that sincere efforts were made by the previous coalition to settle the problems of POJK refugees and Kashmiri migrants. They also discussed the threat and the devastation created by the Pak sponsored terrorism in the State and initiatives taken by the Government to restore the confidence of the people.
Dr Singh said that both Union Government led by Narendra Modi and previous coalition in the State were committed to ameliorate the lot of people who suffered during decades long terrorism in the State and Rs 80,000 crore package given by Centre was one of the major steps in this regard.
