UDHAMPUR, Nov 10: A delegation from Block Parlidhar, led by Sagar Verma, today met District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur, Saloni Rai, and discussed several public issues concerning the area.
As per a statement, the delegation congratulated the DDC on Udhampur district receiving the Scotch Award for the successful implementation of the “Didi Ki Rasoi” initiative and appreciated the recognition given by the Lieutenant Governor for timely relief and rehabilitation during the August-September rains and landslides.
Verma thanked the DDC for her personal intervention in resolving the long-pending demand for a sports stadium at Blhand Panchayat.
He informed that 15 kanals of state land have been identified and demarcated for the project, with the report submitted for transfer to the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
The proposed site on Dhanu-Rang Road will also be used for government and co-curricular activities.
He further informed that of the 18 PMGSY roads sanctioned under Phase-IV for Block Parlidhar, DPRs and surveys for 15 roads have been completed, while the remaining three are pending.
The delegation also sought priority for the Ramnagar-Majalta-Khoon Dhar road (Batch-II), which would reduce travel distance by about 35 km via Chountra Mata-Thial.
The DDC assured the delegation that all genuine demands would be looked into and addressed in a time-bound manner.
Among those present were Bandhu Ram Sharma and Raj Kumar Lasotra.
