Parliament stalemate continues

It is not unfortunate but shocking that our Parliament cannot function , transact important business ,debate and pass important bills , instead get adjourned now for the 15th day in a row.
Rajya Sabha could not transact any business on Friday, March 23 too as opposition parties continued to create ruckus forcing the adjournment of proceedings. The Chairman, M. Venkaiah Naidu was distressed over continued disruptions and even advised the Government to “reach out to the opposition”. He said that all sections of the House needed to introspect as to why, as the Upper House of the Parliament, they had let down the people of the country for three ling weeks. He could understand that MPs might resort to disruptions for a couple of days to press their issues but persisting for that for three weeks had no justification. Naidu advised MPs from all sides to reflect and decide as the people were deeply disturbed. Past disruptions should not be cited to justify the “present wrong” and expressed hope that the Government would take opposition in confidence. The Chairman said, ” I am pained, I am sad.”
Taking up “no – Confidence motion” against the Government but not backed by proper quorum , AIADMK and TRS members protesting over Cauvery issue, members choosing to be in the well raising slogans, displaying placards, demands of special status now for Bihar  etc marred the proceedings of both the houses . Repeated pleas by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha as well by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha to let order prevail in the Houses and transact business were given no heed.
However, on the other side, the Prime Minister accused the opposition of spreading lies against the Government due to its “increased frustration”. In the mean time, Congress MPs led by President Rahul Gandhi staged protest outside the Parliament demanding seeking of a review by the Government of the Supreme Court verdict on SC/St verdict.
