JAMMU, Mar 23: To protest the Government apathy towards future of their children, parents of un-employed Dental Surgeons of Jammu and Kashmir have announced to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
This has been conveyed by the aggrieved parents through an open letter, according to which, more than 4000 Dental Surgeons are unemployed in the State and 400 pass-out Graduates are adding to this number every year as no post of Dental Surgeon was ever advertized since 2008.
“Our children had been on hunger strike for 45 days during the year 2014 but we were given only hollow promises by the Government and nothing was done to absorb these un-employed Dental Surgeons,” they said and added that even during the Governor rule, their representation for creation of posts, submitted to Advisor Vijay Kumar, was just moving from one table to another in the Finance Department.
Lamenting that they were denied a meeting with the Governor, the aggrieved parents alleged double standards with regard to enforcement of Modal Code of Conduct and action on their file. Notification for the posts of Lecturer in the State was issued on March 8 but in the case of Dental Surgeons, the process has been stalled on the name of Modal Code of Conduct, they said and urged the Governor to personally intervene into the matter for necessary action.
