Panic grips Bejbehara when forces open fire apprehending ambush

SRINAGAR: Panic gripped Bejbehara town in South Kashmir on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway when security forces opened fire apprehending ambush by militants in a field.

The person who was fired upon turned out to be a drug addict, who was high on some contraband.    Official sources said that people ran for safety when security forces opened fire at a person, who was hiding in a field at Jablipora in south Kashmir district of Anantnag. However, he managed to flee the spot. (AGENCIES)
