JAMMU, May 4: Department of Mining has constituted a committee for in depth examination of alleged illegal mining activities/operations of stone crusher units in and around river Tawi in violation of High Court directions.
According to the order, OP Bhagat, Director Geology and Mining J&K will be Chairman of the committee, while RC Kotwal Director Finance I&C with additional charge of Mining Department and Romesh Gandotra, Assistant Mining Engineer will be its members. Dr Raj Kumar, Incharge Deputy Director Geology and Mining will be the member secretary of the committee.
