SRINAGAR, Aug 29: The Committee on Assurances of Legislative Assembly headed by MLA Mohammad Yasin Shah directed the concerned executive agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of construction work of all the on-going schools under Sarva Shikhsha Abviyan (SSA) as well as Rashtriya Madhmic Shiksha Abivian (RMSA), Kastruba Gandhi Balika Vidalya (KGBV) buildings and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
The Committee, which met with its members Ch. Zulfikar Ali, T. Namgyal, Er. Abdul Rashid, Syed Bashrat Ahmed Bukhari, Krishan Chander Bhagat, Irfan Ahmed Shah and Javid Ahmed Dar gave their valuable suggestions for the improvement in working of Education Sector.
The Committee observed that the delay in completion of school buildings and KGBVs causes cost escalation and also hardships to the student community.
Secretary Education, Hirdesh Kumar, Director School Education, Jammu, Director School Education, Kashmir, All Chief Education Officers and other officers of Education Department and Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
