JAMMU, May 1: Chaman Lal Pandita’s book Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in urdu Language hits stands today. The book was released at a simple but impressive function held at Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Ambphalla here.
The people from different fields of literature, social, cultural and religious activities participated in the programme.
Earlier the author gave a brief introduction of how he developed the zeal and motivation to write the Book and spoke about the universe- ability and solutions to all types of problems faced by the mankind as also who in the pursuit helped and encouraged him.
The function was presided over by KK Khosa, president of KP Sabha, Ambphalla while well known scholar, Dr. R.L. Shant was the chief guest. The Book written in Urdu is an attempt by the author to help those well acquainted with the language and also those who can do it in bi-lingual form. Dr. R. L. Shant , who has written the foreword for the Book, hailed the attempt of Pandita doing it in Urdu script which otherwise has a special connection with Jammu and Kashmir and most of the people of all communities read and love Urdu .
L .D. Koul associated with the Ragina Bhawani Trust Jammu dwelt upon the issue of grammar and its importance and how the sum of Vedas and Upanishads and related spiritual philosophy as found in the original text in Sanskrit could not be interpreted unless its grandeur and beauty in Sanskrit language was felt and understood.
Dr, Sushil Wattal gave a brief account of how one’s life could be transformed by following what was said in the Gita Ji. Swami Kumar Ji who also has blessed the attempt of Pandita by writing a brief foreword underlined the message of the Gita of passing on its message down to generations .
KK Khosa laid emphasis on the need to adopt and attempt correct pronunciation as faulty pronunciation especially of religious texts affected or even changed altogether the actual meaning thereof.
R.L. Pandita Chairman PNBMT spoke about how various problems and doubts could be overcome by devotedly reading and understanding the Gita Ji. Vinod K Pandita , presented the vote of thanks while a well known Radio and TV voice Ramesh Marhatta conducted the proceedings.
