Panch among 2 bootleggers arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 23: A Panch among two bootleggers were arrested for preparing and selling hooch at Panchari while two drug peddlers were held at Jakhani when they were carrying 1.35 kg cannabis in their vehicle.
Reports said that a Police team led by SHO Pancheri, Vikas Dogra, raided at different locations and recovered seven litres of hooch from the possession of local Panch Ramesh Kumar, son of Shankar Dass of Prayee Pancheri and Kewal Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Sankari.
Police teams also destroyed 50 litres of Lahan on the spot and recovered utensils/ material used for making the spurious liquor. In this regard case FIR number 29/2021 & FIR number 30/2021, under section 48 F and 48 E- Act were registered at PS Pancheri.
Meanwhile, a Police party of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Chaman Gorkha arrested two drug peddlers at Jakhani Naka Point and seized 1.35 kg of cannabis from their possession.
The accused, who were travelling in vehicle (Mahindra Pickup), bearing registration number JK02CC-7946, were identified as Ajay Singh son of Kiker Singh of Samole, Udhampur and Bhushan Kumar, son of Sham Lal of Samole, Udhampur .
In this connection, a case FIR number 222/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur.
