Pakistan’s conspiracy

For the first time after Uri attack, the Prime Minister spoke his mind on this and related developments at a largely attended public gathering in Kozhikode on the side lines of the BJP National Council meet. Pakistan has illegally grabbed a sizable portion of the original State and out of it ceded 5000 square kilometers to China allowing China to build the illegal Karakorum Highway that connects Urumchi in Xinjiang to Gwadar port on Makran coast. Unable to meet the challenge thrown by Gilgit-Baltistan nationalists to Islamabad’s authority over their land, Islamabad regime invited China to march into Gilgit-Baltistan under the cover of providing developmental infrastructure. Actually, Pakistan has brought China militarily and physically close to the borders of the northern frontier of India in Kashmir. China has already made in roads into the Wakhan arm of the Afghan territory that separates Kashmir from Central Asia.
Carrying further their conspiracy, China and Pakistan signed a 46-billion dollar worth China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with the undeclared programme of militarizing the Karakorum Highway so that India is brought within China’s and Pakistan’s nuclear missile range. They are planning to widen and improve the KK Highway and even to make it good for railway service. All along this Highway, China is reported to have established missile bases mostly underground with missiles aimed at Indian cities. China intends to lay gas pipeline also along the Highway to carry Sui or Daulatabad gas all the way to Urumchi in Xingjian. This is the background of the hint given by the Indian Prime Minister during his Independence Day speech that Karakorum Highway is posing serious threat to our country’s security. In China’s first reaction to the Uri attack, while denouncing terrorism, Chinese spokesman did not fail to add in the background of deteriorating Indo-Pakistan relations, that China would not like any damage to be done to the CPEC. The fact is that if there is a war, strategic installations and sites along CPEC have to be the first target of Indian air strike.
Pakistani newspapers have given extraordinary media hype to a statement of the Chinese Counselor in Islamabad assuring Pakistan of China coming to its support in case of external aggression. The Counselor is also reported to have told that Beijing supports Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir. Though later on, China’s official statement clarified that there was no change in her stand on Kashmir being a bilateral issue. China is known for issuing statements with two meanings, one for them and the other for the listener. Don’t forget that China has not withdrawn its policy of issuing visa to Kashmiri citizens on a separate sheet despite many protests by India.
Significantly, out of five permanent members of the Security Council, it was only China that opposed India’s motion of SC declaring LeT chief Hafiz Saeed as international terrorist despite a plethora of proof India had produced. What interests China has in defending the known Pakistani terrorist? Her interest is crystal clear. Beijing wants that the public unrest in Kashmir that has entered 80th day and is sponsored, abetted and proliferated by LeT should deepen so that the SC or other international organizations raise a finger towards India and demand their deputation visit Kashmir. China would very much like to be part of these delegations that will accomplish the task of adding fuel to fire in Kashmir. It is an open secret in Srinagar that stone throwers (Sangbaaz Association) are adequately paid for each session of stone throwing spree. Where from does this money come, and why had the Union Finance Ministry to tighten the noose around the hawala and clandestine bank remittances to Kashmiris from “donors” abroad?
All this shows that the epicenter of Pakistan’s Kashmir policy, hitherto resting with the ISI and GHQ, is gradually shifting to Beijing. Pakistan knows it well that she cannot snatch away Kashmir from Indian hands militarily, and, therefore, the only option left with her is to foment internal subversion in the Muslim majority region of Kashmir. Twenty-seven years of sponsoring and supporting sedition in Kashmir and giving leeway to the traitors have exhausted Pakistan. Therefore for face saving, she wants China to step in and fight her battle in Kashmir knowing very well that historically Kashmiris are fond of inviting foreigners to rule over them. Thrice has Prime Minister Modi made a mention the word “conspiracy” in his Kozhikode public address? What we have stated here is the explanation of conspiracy theory to which the Prime Minister has alluded.
Real power in Pakistan rests with the army. That is precisely what the Vice Chairman of European Union has said two days ago in the course of his threat of EU imposing economic and political sanctions on Pakistan if the violation of the rights of Balochis was not stopped. This is what PM Modi meant to hint at when speaking of isolating Pakistan in world community. The killing of 18 Indian soldiers in Uri will not be forgiven. Islamabad and LeT chief Hafiz Saeed have already tasted the mini-retaliation. More is yet to come. The three chiefs have been in animated conversation with the PM who has made a shrewd move of appealing the Pakistani people to consider what their leaders are exporting and what India is exporting.
