Pakistan calls off lifestyle expo ‘Aalishan Pakistan’ in Delhi amid tension

NEW DELHI, Sept 24:  Simmering tension between India and Pakistan over recent terror attack on Indian Army headquarters brigade in North Kashmir’s Uri which left 18 soldiers dead, has led to Pakistan calling off its third edition of lifestyle expo ‘Aalishan Pakistan’ which was scheduled to take place in Delhi next month.
In a statement issued yesterday, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) said, “The expo was planned keeping in mind increasing regional trade. In this regard, third edition of ‘Aalishan Pakistan’ was planned in September / October 2016 after successful previous edition in 2012 and 2014.”
The statement added that due to the current situation between Pakistan and India, which was beyond TDAP control, the event planned for 2016 has been called off.
The objective of expo was to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan and provide a platform to traders from both the countries.  (UNI)
