JAMMU, Sept 24: CJM Reasi Kamlesh Pandita today rejected the bail application of Rakesh Kumar, son of Sit Ram and Pardeep Kumar, son of Gopal Krishan, both the residents of Pagha Jaranu village of Reasi district, who were involved in a rape case.
After hearing CPO DP Singh for the State whereas Advocate VK Sharma appearing for the accused persons, CJM observed, “rape is a crime against one’s mind, psyche and reputation, it leaves permanent scar on the life of the victim and it becomes horrendous for the victim of rape to lead a dignified and well respected life in the society”.
“It is very sad that now a days, we see marked increase in the rape instances and ravenous maniacs are not sparing even the girls of tender age”, the court further observed while dismissing the bail applications.
