JAMMU, June 11: Pakistan army today resorted to ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sabjian sub sector of Poonch district prompting immediate retaliation from the Indian side. It, however, couldn’t be ascertained immediately as to whether any infiltration attempt was made by the militants during the Pakistan firing or not.
Reports said Pakistan army opened unprovoked firing along the LoC in Sabjian sector at 9.15 am today using small and automatic weapons. There were reports that Pakistan also fired few RPG and mortar shells but they exploded in their own territory.
The Indian side immediately retaliated from their forward posts silencing the Pakistani guns.
An Army jawan Man Bahadur sustained minor injuries in the firing. He was evacuated from the site of firing and shifted to the Military Hospital. Firing from the Pakistan side stopped after about half an hour. Barring minor injuries to a jawan, there was no damage on the Indian side. Reports of damage on Pakistan side, if any, were not known.
