SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire in Gulmarg sector of North Kashmir and Indian troops retaliated.
An official said that Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing at two Indian outposts in Gulmarg sector of North Kashmir this afternoon. “Our troops also fired back and the fringing continued for about one hour. However, there was no casualty on either side”, he added.
This is for the first time that Pakistani troops violated ceasefire since August in Kashmir. Earlier, they violated ceasefire in Nowgam sector of North Kashmir in August.
An official said that the ceasefire violation is aimed at providing cover to infiltrators. He said that over 200 militants are waiting for infiltration on launch pads along the LoC in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
