JAMMU: A day after the Border Security Force foiled an infiltration bid, Pakistan yet again violated the ceasefire by firing small arms and mortars on international border in Akhnoor area of this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan Rangers this morning at around 1040 hrs resorted to unprovoked firing of small arms and few mortar shells in Pargwal Sector of Akhnoor,” BSF spokesman here said. He said, “own side also retaliated with similar calibre weapons”.
At least three BSF posts got affected due to firing, he added. There is no firing since 1140 hrs while no loss of life or damage has been reported in the exchange of fire. Meanwhile, BSF also claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid on Thursday night in Samba Sector.
They said a movement of four militants was seen close to the fence following which they were fired upon and they ran towards Pakistan’s side.
