JAMMU, June 4: Pakistani Rangers today violated ceasefire by firing two rounds along International Border (IB) near Patawal Border Out Post (BOP) in Ramgarh sector of Samba district.
“Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire by firing two rounds of small arm on BSF Patawal Border Outpost in Ramgarh Sector at 6.30 am today,” official sources said.
They said that no casualty or damage was reported on the Indian side. The BSF did not retaliate to the firing.
The Rangers reportedly targeted a BSF patrol party moving in the forward area but failed to hit the target. Earlier also, the Rangers had resorted to similar kind of targeted firing in Arnia sector of the IB in Jammu district.
The BSF was maintaining high alert all along the IB to thwart infiltration attempts by the militants.
