JAMMU, June 4: Making a scathing attack on Congress, Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today accused the party of contradicting unanimous Parliament resolution of 1994 on J&K.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of Modi Fest here, today, Dr Jitendra Singh said that BJP and Modi Government have a consistent stand that if there was any issue between India and Pakistan that is to retrieve the portion of J&K which is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan “and there is no shift in our stand on that.”
The Union Minister while responding to a question regarding a map published by Congress Party portraying J&K as Indian occupied Kashmir, Dr Jitendra Singh said that this way the Party has contradicted the Parliament resolution passed during the Government of PV Narsimha Rao.
He said whatever will be Congress stand but BJP and Modi Government are of firm opinion that PoK is part of India which is under forcible occupation of Pakistan.
In response to another question, Dr Jitendra Singh said world has now come around the India’s view point on terror as international community is convinced that terrorism has no boundaries and no religion and it should be fought jointly, while referring to today’s terror attack in Britain.
He said many countries are facing the threat of terrorism and today’s attack in Britain is second in last two weeks so world has acknowledged Modi Government’s stand on terrorism which has become a global threat.
On continuous firing from across the border, Dr Jitendra Singh said there can be no compromise on matters related to the security of the country and appropriate action is being taken across the border as well as within.
“I would say that there can be no compromise as far as safeguarding the country’s security is concerned. As far as the professional approach of the security agencies, be it military or para military forces, you must have realised that for the past few days, appropriate is being done across the border as well as within the borders,”.
While taking a dig at those politicians who are advocating for separatists and pleading their cause, Dr Jitendra Singh said separatism has become a convenient refuge for disgruntled and out of power politicians.
Dr Jitendra said that youth of Kashmir are fed up with violence as they want to take the benefits of globalization besides becoming the part of developmental agenda of Modi Government and don’t wish to be dictated by vested elements.
It is will of the common people of Kashmir that this wheel of fear, which is meant to keep them deprived of the opportunities, is stopped, he said.
Singh said that whether it is civil services exam or recruitment for military and para military forces, the youth does not wish to be held back.
It is only the vested interests of a few, who are out to carry forward their agenda and (have) created this kind of mayhem, he said.
Later addressing the function in connection with Modi Fest, Dr Jitendra Singh lashed out at separatists saying that those who are misleading the Kashmiri youth will never succeed in their designs. “If so called freedom movement is so holy for them then why they send their own children to sit in Civil Services examination and for search of greener pastures outside the State or country and ask the innocent youth to join the so called movement’’, he added.
Asserting that the separatists will never succeed in their designs, he said the Kashmiri youth want to come out of these shackles and join the developmental agenda of Modi Government. This has been established recently when for 700 posts in the State, 68000 candidates turned up for interview.
While highlighting the achievements of three years Modi Government at Centre, he said the developmental process which has taken place in the country will not stop now as the people of the country trust the honesty and dedication of Prime Minister and his team.
This is the reason that demonetization decision was fully endorsed by countrymen despite facing some hardships during initial days. No Prime Minister could have dared to take such a harsh decision when the elections to five States were round the corner. But Prime Minister when asked about the same said we are not for running the Government but the nation’’, Dr Jitendra Singh added.
He said earlier people of this nation were being misled on the name of caste, religion and region in this heterogeneous nation where language and culture changes after some kilometers distance but entire nation has been tied in one string by the Modi name.
He while highlighting various achievements of Modi Government from Jan Dhan to Mudra Yojna and Start up India said it is not the question what has been done during the three years of Modi rule but the question is why this could not be done in 65 years after independence.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that all these yojnas were focused on poor and youth. “But it needs a campaign to take them forward so that the people can take their full advantage.”
He said by initiating these yojnas Modi Government raised the self esteem of poor and they welcomed the policies and programmes initiated by him.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while referring to introduction of self attestation and abolishing of interviews for Class IV posts said that Modi Government abolished 1300 unwanted laws in the country.
He said that J&K Government should also abolish the interviews for Class IV posts as many States of country have implemented the same. “In case they delay it the day will come when the people will force the Government to implement it.”
Addressing the function MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta also highlighted various schemes initiated by Modi Government for welfare of the poor people of the country.
He termed the self attestation and removal of interviews for Class IV posts a revolutionary step. He said Modi Government is committed that the last man in the last queue should be benefitted as was dreamt by former Jan Sangh chief, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadayay.
BJP district presidents Ayodhya Gupta, Baldev Singh Billoria and D C Jammu Rajiv Rajan and others were present in the function. The Minister also took round of various stalls during the Modi Fest at Kala Kendra here.
