JAMMU, Feb 8: Pakistani Rangers tonight again violated ceasefire by resorting to firing at Nawa Pindi and Jugnu Post in RS Pura sector but there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side.
Official reports said Pakistan started heavy firing targeting forward Indian posts at Jugnu Chak and Nawa Pind at 10.45 pm tonight. The Rangers also fired couple of mortar shells, which landed in the fields and exploded harmlessly.
It was not clear immediately as to whether the BSF retaliated or not.
“The firing continued when the reports last came in but there were no reports of any damage on the Indian side,’’ the reports said.
During the past few days, Pakistan has frequently been violating ceasefire along the International Border (IB) in RS Pura, Arnia and Samba sectors. The BSF has not been responding.
Reports said Pakistani Rangers were using heavy fire arms in targeting forward BSF posts at Nawa Pind and Jugnu Post.
