‘Situation on LoC under control’

JAMMU, Dec 23: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said today that Pakistan army is making all efforts to help terrorists infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir under the cover of ceasefire violations.
Speaking to reporters after addressing Passing Out Parade at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur in Samba district, he said that the situation at the Line of Control (LoC) was completely under control and security forces were effectively thwarting the infiltration bids.

“The Pakistan army is making a lot of attempts to send terrorists towards this side and they also resort to ceasefire violations,” he said.
“They bring terrorists to launch pads and resort to ceasefire violation, causing loss to civilians and troops”, he said, adding they are being given a befitting reply by Indian troops.
To a question about the operation in Kashmir valley, Singh said that two successful operations were carried out in Kashmir on Sunday.
In Tral area, one JeM terrorist was arrested who was identified as Umar Bhai, an associate of JeM commander, hailing from Pakistan.
He said that in Sopore belt a module of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was busted.
The DGP, however, refuted reports of any terrorist attack on police post in Kishtwar.
In his address, the DGP said today about 300 brave personnel are joining the department after completing their basic training course and hoped that by their joining the organization will get more strength.
He emphasized upon the pass outs to be committed and contribute in the mission of force in achieving peace and eradicating crimes from Jammu and Kashmir. He advised the pass-out jawans to follow today’s oath throughout the service and be always ready to provide selfless service to the people and the nation under any circumstances.
Dilbag congratulated the pass out Jawans for displaying the outstanding parade and said that he was happy to see the fitness level of the constables. He added that pass-outs have shown a high level of professionalism when they were assigned for Parliamentary elections and law & order duties.
Referring to the profile of the pass out constables, the DGP said he was impressed by their technical and academic qualification and asked the ADGP Armed to utilize the skills of these constables with best possible methods so that the better results are achieved for the department as maximum number of them belong to Armed wing of J&K Police
Dilbag said that the commitment and the professionalism of Jammu and Kashmir Police is being discussed and appreciated across the country because of the priceless sacrifices given by our brave and courageous personnel.
