JAMMU : In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan resorted to heavy unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.
“Pakistani Army fired small arms at 1155 hrs today violating the truce and later fired mortars in Shahpur Kerni Sector of Poonch,” police sources here said.
They said that Indian troops retaliated with similar calibre weapons. “Exchange of firing is continuing,” they said adding that no injury has been reported so far.
Pakistan last night also fired heavily in Pallanwala Sector of Jammu region.
Meanwhile, around 50,000 people from 45 bordering villages in Akhnoor, Pallanwala and Chhamb sectors have shifted to safer locations besides the relief camps set up by the district administration having all basic facilities. (AGENCIES)
