Srinagar, Sept 4: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt General KJS Dhillon, today said that Pakistan is desperate to infiltrate maximum number of militants into Kashmir.
The GOC said that they arrested two Pakistani militants who had infiltrated into Kashmir. “All the launch pads are full and attempts are being made to push terrorists into the Valley to disrupt peace. In one such attempt on 21st of August, we have apprehended two Pakistani nationals who are affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. They were apprehended by Army”, he said.

One of the militant has been identified as Khalil. “I am working as a militant with LeT. I have received one week arms training at Kacherban along with Nazeem. I have been working for the last 4-5 years after the training. We planned there to cross the border together. There were other people with me. Their names are Noor, Nadeem, Wahid and Shoib. There are other people as well who were supported by Pakistan army. Their names are Wazad, Shabir, Wazir, Nayak Kasif, and Sepoy Haleel. I am a resident of Rawalpandi’s Jaleebi Chowk in Pakistan. My village is Jabee”, said Khalil in a vedio released by Army during the press conference.
Another militant has been identified as Mohammad Nazim. “My name is Mohammad Nazim and I am 20-year old. My father’s name is Mohammad Narav Khan. I am the resident of Rawalpadi’s Femti area of Pakistan. I am a militant and associated with LeT. I have received training from LeT and there were other people with me. Their names are Mubbasir, Mudasir and Khalil. We all received training from Kancherban under Ustad Nadeem. Our other group was on the other side of the LoC. We had planned to infiltrate and attack together. Some Pakistani troopers were also with us. Their names are Nayak Asif and Hawaldar Shamir. There are other people who are trying to infiltrate with the help of Pakistan army”, Nazim said.
“These two videos clearly show how Pakistani nationals are being pushed into Kashmir to undertake the terrorist activities to disrupt prevailing peace especially after 5th August”, said the GOC.
“All the launch pads are full of militants across LoC. The infiltration attempts are being attempted round the clock. The militants in assistance with the Pakistan army are being pushed into the Valley. Even the militants which we have captured today were helped by them”, he said.
“Four-five Pakistani regulars are lying dead on the LoC for a number of days but Pakistan is refusing to take the bodies despite a hotline message from us. In Kargil they had refused to take the bodies of their soldiers. Now, they are refusing to take bodies of their people. Our DGMO has been sending them message regularly regarding the issues but to no avail. The number of launch pads does not matter but the number of terrorists is a cause of concern”, said the GOC.
“The war like stores have been recovered from the apprehended militants including some improvised explosive material”, the GOC said.
Lt General Dhillon said anti militancy operations are going on in Kashmir and there is no let up in this regard. “There is no stoppage in the operations. In the last one month, terrorists have been killed or apprehended within the Valley. There is no let up in the operations”, he added.
The GOC said that infiltration attempts are being made everywhere along the LoC. “Infiltration attempts are being made every day at all the possible places. All the bids are being encountered successfully. As per the reports received, there has not been a single successful infiltration into the Valley”, he said.
The Army Commander said that more than 350 operations are being launched in Gulmag sector. “I have visited the Gulmarg sector 2-3 times for the last two weeks. There are more than 50 operations which have been launched in and around Gulmarg including some specific areas in the Gulmarg town. In the last 15 days where ever we have received information or even a speculation, operations have been launched. Not a single thing has happened in Gulmarg. I would request anyone who wants to visit the place to please come and stay where ever they want to. No person has been arrested. There may be some people who might have been questioned either at their home or some other places”, he said.
“For the last 30 years, Army has been carrying Sadhbhavana programmes. We have been holding interaction programmes for the welfare of the people and get their suggestions regarding different issues of development. This time we have already submitted a report to the Government which we have compiled after talking to the locals. There are narratives which are being spread by Pakistan and there are some clarifications which they need from you. These are normal doubt clearing sessions. It’s a normal discussion between two people and nothing is being organized”, said the GOC.
Additional Director General of Police Muneer Khan said that the infiltration attempts are being made not only in the Gulmarg sector but from other areas as well. “Since 5th August, we have been successful in maintaining law and order situation without a single casualty. And the credit goes to all the ground forces. Things are improving gradually and we hope everything will fall on its place and normalcy will return soon”, he added.
“I am pleased that we are getting more intelligence inputs despite communications problems. We are getting more surrenders and it is more success for us than to kill a militant. Nothing to worry about, operations are continuing”, Khan said.
