JAMMU, May 12: Pakistan Army today again resorted to ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC), the second in about a week, at Sabjian sector of Poonch district but there was no casualties or damage in the firing.

Official sources said Pakistan Army started firing on Indian positions from their Cobra-I Post in Sabjian sector of Poonch district. At 11.20 am today. Sources said the firing stopped after about 40 minutes.
“There were no casualties or damage on Indian side in the firing’’, they added and said the Indian side exercised restraint and didn’t retaliate.
No infiltration attempt by the militants under the cover of firing was noticed anywhere in Sabjian sector, sources said. They pointed out that chances of intrusion bid by the militants from across the LoC were very remote during the day time when the ceasefire violation took place.
Even then, the troops conducted search operations all along Sabjian sector for more than two hours after the firing but didn’t spot any movement of the militants.
“Firing by the Pakistan troops was not aimed at facilitating infiltration attempts but was only confined to ceasefire violation, for which no reasons were given by the Pakistani troops during protest lodged by Indian Army on hotline this evening’’, sources said.
