JAMMU, Oct 15: Pahal–a Social Organisation today on the occasion of birth anniversary of Missile Man and Former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and World Students Day organized Pahal Chhatra Shakti Samman Samaroh 2015 at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground.
On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest, whileas Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu was the guest of honour.
The students of Government Women College Gandhi Nagar and Parade alongwith the artists of Information Department and the children of the Pahal Parivar presented cultural programmes.
In the function which started with the Saraswati Vandana all the 56 Principals of the Colleges whose students participated in the Display Your Talent recently organized by the Jammu University and the Heads of the various departments of Jammu University were welcomed and presented Certificates of Honour. Besides this all the 33 winners of the “Display Your Talent” and nearly 1200 participants were presented with “Pahal Chhatra Shakti Samman 2015”.
Prof Pankaj Srivastav, Dean Students Welfare, Jammu University was also honoured by presenting him “Pahal Atulaya Pratibha Samman”.
Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta and the Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu Prof Ashok Aima were also honoured on the occasion.
Besides this the winners of the Ashok Sodhi Memorial Photography Competition namely Rakesh Bakshi of Daily Excelsior (1st Prize), Sanjay Gupta (2nd Prize), Amarjeet Singh (3rd Prize), Inderjeet Singh (consolation Prize), Ashwani Kumar (Consolation Prize) and Shilpa Thakur (Consolation Prize), organized by the Jammu Press Club and the three times Gold Medal winner in National Roller Skating Chandeep Singh were also honoured with “Pahal Yuva Gourav Samman” on the occasion.
