Apropos the writeup ‘Paddari dialect facing extinction’ by Jaswant Singh in this paper on10th Jan . The writer deserves appreciation for bringing out such an informative, well researched and well thought article. It should concern us all that speakers of local dialects are declining day by day. The dialects are treasures that link our present and future with our past and are part and parcel of local culture. Urgent efforts are needed to save these treasures called dialects.
