Shimla, Aug 27: Agreements have been signed for the construction of a 500 MW Dugar Hydroelectric Project and a 42 MW Baggi Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh.
The pacts were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here on Friday evening.
The Director of Energy Department, Harikesh Meena, signed the agreement on behalf of the government. NHPC General Manager (Power) Suresh Kumar and BBMB Secretary Satish Kumar Singla signed for their respective enterprises.
The Dugar project would be constructed by NHPC at Killar in Chamba district and the Baggi project by BBMB at Baggi in Mandi district.
The Chief Minister said the projects would provide direct employment to about 4,300 people.
