JAMMU, June 1: Vijay Bakaya, general secretary, Apni Party, has expressed concern that the Kashmiri Pandit displaced educated youth recruited through due process in the PM’s Special Package in the year 2010 are not being given the promotion benefits to which they are entitled.
In this regard Bakaya made special reference to the case of JEs Civil and Mechanical appointed in the R&B Department in 2010 as well as accounts employees appointed in the same year. He said the accounts employees were given twice promotions after qualifying the departmental exams but these hapless employees this time when they were due for another promotion their case was kept pending on flimsy grounds
He stated that it has been brought to his notice that while their colleagues in the, Social Welfare and Education Department have been promoted after placement in the respective departmental seniority lists, such has not been done in the case of migrant JEs by the R&B Department as well as accounts cadre by Finance Department .
He expressed dismay at this discriminatory treatment and demanded that the seniority of the JEs as well as other employees be fixed urgently and promotion, which is their right be granted to them without further delay.
He reminded the Administration that these youth were recruited specially in the Valley to work as Ambassadors of the displaced KP community and to pave the way for its return with dignity and honour.
In this background Bakaya stated that it was imperative that these youth should not feel any disillusionment about their future, despite working to the best of their ability.
