Package employees continue protest, reiterate relocation demand

JAMMU, Dec 8: PM package employees while continuing their protest in front of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s Office here, today reiterated their demand of relocation in view of fresh threats given by the militant outfits to Valley posted Kashmiri Hindu employees.
The protestors with placards and banners in their hands were raising slogans in support of relocation demand. Justifying it they said that in view of fresh threat letters issued by The Resistance Front, the employees are not in a position to serve in Kashmir Valley though they had voluntarily offered their services to work in valley after quitting the lucrative jobs in private sector outside the J&K.

They said the fresh threat letters issued by militant outfits to the package employees by name have further alarmed them (package employees) and under prevailing circumstances it is not practicable for them to work in Valley while hostile conditions still prevail.
The protesting employees also reiterated that the Government should order an inquiry that who leaked the information to the militant outfit and the persons responsible for the same be punished under law and if the information has been leaked from the offices the employees responsible for the same be sacked.
The protesting employees also criticized the administration for withholding the salaries of the package employees and said that on one hand they are facing threat to their lives and on the other hand the authorities have punished them by withholding the salaries.
These employees said that they are ready to work anywhere outside the Valley but not in Kashmir as situation is not conducive there.
