JAMMU, Apr 9: The Government today ordered posting of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Owais Ahmad Sheikh as Director of Vigilance.
Owais is an IPS officer of 1987 batch and had recently been elevated as Additional DGP.
The post of Director Vigilance was lying vacant after the transfer of Vigilance Commissioner PL Gupta.
The Vigilance Commissioner has been designated as Director Vigilance after the constitution of State Vigilance Commission.
Former Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda had already been appointed as Chief Vigilance Commissioner and RK Jerath, a retired IAS officer as Vigilance Commissioner. Another post of Vigilance Commissioner is lying vacant.
