Udhampur town is a thickly populated town and is expanding day in and day out. The town is also witnessing steep increase in private vehicles, with the result, town is becoming overcrowded. As there is mismanagement of traffic, the town has become accident prone. Since there is insufficient deployment of traffic personnel in the town, there is no checking on overloading by matador drivers. With the result, passengers suffer a lot of inconvenience.
It is requested to the District Administration to deal sternly with drivers who indulge in overloading and violation of traffic rules.

Start SRTC bus service
We, the residents of villages like Banihal, Gool, Ramsu and other farflung areas of Ramban request the Transport Commissioner to start SRTC bus services from these villages to Ramban headquarter. In absence of the services people, particularly school going children, patients and women folk suffer terribly. Besides, people face shortage in transporting goods from these villages to Ramban headquarter and vice versa.
Hope this problem is taken into account and redressed without further delay.

Water shortage in Ramban
This is to draw the attention of the Ramban administration that some villages in the area like Pernote, Chanroog, Failiti and Kangra have been facing acute drinking water shortage since a long time.
Despite knowing the problems faced by the villagers on account of it, nothing has been done so far.
It may be mentioned here that women folk are the worst sufferers of this shortage as they have to travel long distances to fetch water to meet the needs.
One wonders whether we are living in medieval times or in an era where Government claims that basic amenities like water and electricity are available to the villages in India.

Stop wastage of water
This is to draw the attention of the PHE Department that oodles of water gets wasted daily near the entrance of the High Court Jammu. The cause of wastage is the leaking pipes at the site. It is not mere wastage of water but an inconvenience to people who pass by it, besides causing water shortage to the residents who are dependent on it for their daily water need.
One wonders why PHE department does not bother to plug the leaks to save water. Besides residents of the area too seem to be least concerned about it. Will they wake up to this wastage?
