Jammu, Aug 5: The over-flooded nullah near Telephone Exchange, Bantalab has created havoc for the residents, whereas the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is unmoved over the issue.
This was highlighted by the residents of Bantalab during their visit to the Excelsior Office today.
The residents flayed the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for their failure in cleaning the choked nullah near Telephone Exchange opposite Rajinder Colony.
They informed that the nullah near Telephone Exchange has choked for the past several months, but the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) never got it cleaned, thereby putting the life of the people at the risk of health hazard.
Huge dump of garbage was there in this nullah due to which it got choked few months back, they said.
Due to recent rains, stone and sand got accumulated there, due to which the nullah broke its bank and the dirty water gushed on to road and also entered in the residential houses, schools and the business establishments near Telephone Exchange and its surroundings.
“We informed Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) about the aforesaid problem many times, but nothing has been done till date”, the residents alleged.
The residents warned to come on road and hold massive protest if Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) failed to clean the choked nullah at the earliest for the free flow of the rainy water.
