Over-aged displaced youth decry Govt’s apathy

JAMMU, Jan 6: Over aged Kashmiri Pandit Relief holders and over-aged youth in a meeting here, today expressed grave concern over the plight of exiled youth and blamed the Government of its total failure in solving their problems.
The over-aged youth who met at Geeta Bhawan Muthi near here, today demanded immediate redressal of their grievances by announcing a rehabilitation policy under a special economic package. Terming the displaced youth as worst sufferers of terrorism and turmoil in Valley, they demanded that Government should announce a package of Rs 50 lakh for every displaced youth for his rehabilitation.
Kuldeep Kashmiri, who chaired the meting said that the displaced youth have lost their all talent due to idleness as they were deprived of Government jobs in last three decades due to callousness of successive governments. Even the State administration did not have good intensions in implementation of much talked about PM’s employment package announced way back in 2008 with the result it is still hanging in balance and the displaced youth who were at the verge of over age at the time of its announcement could not take its advantage as the package was delayed by the authorities over a decade.
Addressing the meeting Ravinder Koul president of the relief holders demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs 25,000 per family per month. He urged the youth to be ready for protracted struggle for their cause.
A large number of displaced youth who attended the meeting showed their concern over their plight.
Those who addressed the meeting included B L Dhar, P L Raina, Comrade M L Raina. The speakers decided to intensify their struggle to take it to logical conclusion and also take up the issue with concerned ministries in New Delhi.07
