JAMMU, Jan 22: In a surprise traffic naka conducted in South Jammu today, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) seized over 15 vehicles and took strict action against various traffic violations.
Supervised by the SP South and SDPO South, the operation aimed to achieve multiple objectives, including enforcement of the Supreme Court’s verdict on tinted glasses, where vehicles with excessively tinted windows were penalized.
The naka also focused on enhancing security measures ahead of Republic Day, serving as a critical checkpoint to bolster safety. Additionally, the drive addressed general traffic rule enforcement and acted as a strong deterrent against traffic offences through the visible and professional presence of the police. A special focus was placed on removing stickers or signs promoting gun culture from vehicles, with some vehicles being seized in extreme cases.
All types of vehicles, including matadors, buses, cars and two-wheelers were thoroughly inspected and violators of the Motor Vehicles Act faced appropriate action, with vehicles being either challaned or impounded.
Senior officers ensured the operation was conducted in a professional and well-coordinated manner, further boosting public confidence in the efforts of law enforcement agencies.
