SRINAGAR, Apr 20: Anantnag Police today destroyed a large quantity of seized contraband substances at Lassipora in Pulwama.
The disposal was carried out in a transparent and secure manner under the supervision of a duly constituted committee, strictly following legal procedures and prescribed norms.
The destroyed contraband, seized in multiple cases registered across the district, totaled 1084.89 kilograms and included various narcotic and psychotropic substances.
Among the substances disposed of were 761.52 kg of poppy straw, 28.486 kg of charas, 42.96 kg of fukki, 212.014 kg of bung boosa, 12.100 kg of ganja, and 0.7 grams of brown sugar.
Additionally, three sealed plastic canes of codeine weighing 27.110 grams, 3,726 bottles of codeine phosphate, and 1,139 tramadol tablets and capsules were also destroyed after obtaining due legal sanction.
