Govt totally ignoring plight of displaced Pandits: AIMCCC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 20: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township today under the chairmanship of B K Raina.
Addressing the meeting, he said that due to wrong policies of Government, Kashmiri Pandits have been ignored in every field of life.
The Government is totally silent on KPs who are victims of terrorism/genocide and it was totally ignoring their plight.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief of the organization, Desh Ratten Padita said that KPs are patriotic and have lost all property in early 1989-90(at the time of displacement) for being patriotic Indians but due to wrong policies of Governments since then KPs, have been totally ignored for last 36 years of exile. Appeasement is the root cause which hindered justice to this hapless community. It is very unfortunate that some political parties use KPs displacement in their election agenda for their party interests to get votes but no help or support is being provided to displaced community.
He said every hard and harsh rule is applied upon KPs through Relief Organization to crush this community once for all. NFSA is one of the best example for the same, said vice president of organization, P N Jalali. He said Relief Organization has proved a total failure in present circumstances due to hidden agenda of Government.
He said there is neither any proper plan nor any proper scheme for welfare of this helpless community.
Impure water since shifting to Jagti township has made the life of Jagti dewellers miserable but the Government never bothered for it.  Encroachment of land in Valley is a big issue but district administration seems a total failure to protect migrants land, said AIMCCC organization leaders .Others who spoke included O N Kanth, Anjali Tikoo, Vinoo Misri, Basanti Raina, Bimla Bhan, Santosha Hali, Ravi Bhat, Jai Krishan, Veena Dhar and Ashok Tikoo.
