JAMMU, May 23: About 229 wireless operators, who were ousted by the J&K police department from services, took out a protest rally here today demanding justice by implementing stay orders of State High Court.
Hundreds of ousted wireless operators carrying banners in their hands took to road to express their anger against State police department, who terminated their services after taking seven years of service.
While protesting, the ousted wireless operators said that they were selected as constable (wireless operators) in J&K police but after rendering their services for seven years, they were terminated by the department with a silly reason that it has reframed the merit to State level that too after seven years of their appointment. “What kind of justice this is”, they questioned.
“We performed our duties round the clock for seven years and now we have to defend ourselves in the Court. Why did not the departmental prosecutor defend our rights?”, the aggrieved wireless operators said.

They said that our Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who typically describes unemployment as the root cause of militancy in the State, should tell whether this Government is favouring employment or unemployment.
The ousted wireless operators said that the judgement passed by the Court on 2014 came to force on January 18, 2017 then how it could be possible for them to defend themselves in the Court prior to that date, when they did not get any legal notice by the department.
They demanded justice for them and appealed the CM and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene into the matter.
