JAMMU, Apr 29: All Jammu and Kashmir Oil Tankers’ Drivers and Cleaners Union (OTDCU) today organized an impressive program here at Rail Head Narwal to celebrate its annual day.
Hundreds of members of the Union attended the program in presence of Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji, Head of Dera Nangali Sahib, Trilochan Singh Wazir (former MLC) and Manmohan Singh (former Mayor, JMC).
Mahant Manjeet Singh in his address blessed all the participants and prayed for well being of every participant whereas TS Wazir said celebration of annual day, gives all the members an opportunity to present their views and apprise the union members about their grievances.
Manmohan Singh, who was special invitee, while interacting with the members of the Union, said despite hostile environment, many a time the drivers even risking their lives ensure delivery of essential commodity in highly militancy affected areas.
Ranjeet Singh Raina, president of the Union, in his message, said that each union member is important pillar of the organization. He urged the Government to consider giving transport sector of Jammu and Kashmir the status of an Industry.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by Harasis Singh.
Prominent members of the Union present on the occasion were Ramesh Kumar (vice president), Devinder Singh (general secretary), Bikesh Kumar Vicky (secretary), Devinder Singh Wazir (cashier), Mohd Amin (press secretary), Surinder Singh Bittu and Sohan Singh.
