In the city of temples incidents of attacking women for snatching their golden wears even in broad day light are on the increase. Motor cycle borne these thieves indulge in such snatchings with impunity and unmindful of the physical harm to the victim as a result of such snatchings.
Usually number plate less twin riders do indulge in such acts. Agreed there are nakas and checking points where police tries to keep a watch on suspects but the modus operandi of the criminals is to attack a victim in a lane or by- lane during odd hours. It is therefore incumbent on the Police to conduct patrolling of lanes by-lanes etc to apprehend such criminals. Intensive checking and controlling of such vehicles which bear no number plates or the numbers are hidden or painted to render illegible must be impounded and proceeded against under rules.
