Orientation program of IIM Jammu’s second batch of IPM

JAMMU, Sept 6: With the inaugural ceremony of the orientation program, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu welcomed the second batch of IPM (2022-27).
A relaxing yoga session focusing on the theme “Maximize happiness and mindfulness” by Yoga, and Meditation Trainer Gautam Verma marked the beginning of the three-day program, followed by a faculty-student interactive session.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Prof Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, and guest of honor, Sanjeev Verma, Secretary, Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment.
Dr Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Chairperson Admissions IIM Jammu gave a brief presentation about the batch profile of the incoming second batch of IPM.
Following the batch profile, there was a brief address by Sanjeev Verma, who advised the freshers to be prepared for the forthcoming academic sessions with rigor. He emphasized that the – ‘Future is Green’ and stressed the importance of a green future, green solutions, green finance, and management in times to come.
This was followed by the introduction to the Integrated Program in Management (IPM) by Dr Kapil Manohar Gumte, Chairperson IPM, IIM Jammu. He provided an overview of the course, faculty and the institute in general.
Further in the session, Prof Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM, urged the students to take responsibility and contribute to the IIM Jammu family.
Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, spoke at the length about the two unique programs ranging from the Dual Degree program (B Tech +MBA) with IIT Jammu and MBA (HA & HM) started by IIM Jammu in collaboration with IIT Jammu and AIIMS Jammu and called it a truly unique role model for the nation. He quoted the real-life examples of Industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani and emphasized on entrepreneurship.
Prof Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu advocated the need to remain curious and observant and to continuously learn and relearn with passion. He also stated that the upcoming five years would shape the lives of the students.
The first newsletter by the name “Prakhyapanam” of the Industry Interaction Cell (IIC) of IIM Jammu was also unveiled on this occasion by all the dignitaries present on the dais.
