Srinagar, Nov 25: An organization named OCCO Crime Control Organization was today announced to have been formed to fight the crimes that are prevalent in the society.
In this regard, a press conference was held by the representatives of the organization-registered with the government-who detailed the mandate the objectives of the organization that has been formed to keep a check on social crimes ranging from drug abuse, corruption and human trafficking.
The representatives said that they will be collaborating with the major stakeholders in this regard and will do their bit in acting upon such crimes and making sure that the common man does on suffer at all.
“We are committed to serving people of J&K regarding the issues that we as a society are facing. The crimes such as corruption, human trafficking, domestic violence, illegal drug trade, arms trafficking and land mafia,” the representatives told media here.
They said that they are in a process of appointing more than 100 observers in different parts of the Valley who will coordinate with the concerned departments regarding the crimes taking place in society.
They also added that they were ready to provide support to the Government departments to curb the social crimes that are occurring and will make sure that the crimes that are consuming lives in Kashmir are put to an end.
