Optical Fiber Cable in border areas

In order to mitigating the connectivity problems faced both by the Defence personnel as well as the people, the Central Government has decided to lay Optical Fiber Cable  (OFC) in all the border areas of the country. This was recently announced by the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It may be underlined that these cables play a very crucial role in communication system and permit transmission over longer distances than by ordinary electric cables.
Fibers are used instead of metal wires because signals travel along them with less loss. The Minister was speaking of the achievements of the four year old Narendra Modi Government. She shared this information with the media persons that such an important decision of cable laying had been taken only over a week ago and necessary funds allocation too decided upon.
With this decision, it is expected that all the border areas along the Indo- China border will be connected with OFC which will improve the mobile and telephone connectivity as also improvement in radio frequency.
It is surprising if not astonishing that in many border areas, people cannot tune into radio channels like the All India Radio or Vivadh Bharti but can get easily those from across the other side. False news, propaganda against this country being aired from such stations from the “other side” does a double edged damage and this new cable system shall hopefully overcome that problem.
