Oppn stages walkout from Assembly on macadamisation of roads

JAMMU: Entire opposition National Conference and Congress on Thursday staged walkout from the Legislative Assembly on the issue of macadamisation of roads.
While the Minister In-charge Road and Buildings (Independent Charge) Sunil Sharma was replying to National Conference legislator Mubarak Gul during Question hour, the Opposition members raised issue of their respective constituencies.
NC members Mubarak Gul, Ali Mohammad Sagar and Altaf Kaloo alleged that the government has failed in developing the constituencies of opposition members.
They also shouted that the ministers and the MLAs of the ruling Government are busy developing their own constituencies.
However shouting slogans, “bandar baant band karo band karo”, the opposition members stood up from their seats.
They staged protest while Legislator Altaf Kaloo also tore papers.
Amid anti-government slogans, entire opposition members of Congress and National Conference, including Leader of opposition Omar Abdullah staged walkout from the House. (AGENCIES)
